Back in Time: Unshackling From Love Chapter 188

Chapter 188

Jerome frowned.

Kylle was usually gentle and forgiving.

Why was she so agitated today?

“Is it something I’m supposed to know?” he asked.

Looking at his indifferent expression and the wound on his lips, Kylie was filled with jealousy.

However, she only shed sad tears.

“When my mom was seriously ill, I felt helpless and begged for someone to develop a medicine to cure her disease. At that time, you comforted me and said that if there were such a powerful drug, you’d buy it for me.”

Kylie looked sad.

“Although the medicine developed by Professor Xander isn’t the one that can cure my mom’s disease, I still want to bring it to the market to make up for my regrets,”

she continued.

It turned out that she insisted on leading this project because of her mother.

Jerome couldn’t remember much about when he was yonger, but she did feel sad for a long time after her mother passed away.

She begged in tears, “Jerome, Mikayla doesn’t have to be in this project, You can find other profitable projects for her. Please let me be in charge of the medicine distribution rights.”

It was the first time Kylie begged him for anything.

He hesitated slightly.

Mikayla had already received the news.

She’d be furious if she knew he gave the project back to Kylie.

Although he didn’t care whether she was angry, she had stopped targeting Kylie.

Chapter 188

He didn’t want her to start causing trouble again.

“Kylie, as long as medicine benefits the people, it doesn’t matter who is in charge. If you’re still dissatisfied, I’ll ask someone to find you more pharmaceutical related projects.”

Kylie understood that Jerome wouldn’t let her be in charge of the project.

It was useless for her to complain.

On the contrary, he would become annoyed with her.

So, even though she was upset, all she could do was accept his decision.

Fortunately, he was feeling guilty, so was in a gentler state.

That day at the Dragoncrest Villa, Mikayla criticized Kylie for not having a sense of boundary and sitting too close to him.

So, Jerome started purposefully keeping his distance from her.

He even addressed her as “Ms. White” at work.

Today, he finally called her “Kylie” like before.

So, Kylie kept her tearful look and nodded meekly.

“I understand. Jerome, do you regret letting me join Bernhal Enterprise?”

Jerome looked at her.

“Why do you suddenly ask?”

“I haven’t accomplished anything noteworthy yet. I also made a false judgment about Johnny. Moreover, I got injured at the party and made Mikayla unhappy.”

She gave a vulnerable look and cried.

“I feel like I shouldn’t have come back to Marisville, back to you…”

He had rarely seen her like this.

She’d always been confident in herself.

Reminiscing about the past, Jerome gave Kylie some tissues.

Chapter 186

“Don’t overthink it. I’ll never regret the decisions I made.”

“Thank you, Jerome.”

She took the tissues and said hoarsely, “I’ll head back to Bernhal Enterprise first.”

After leaving the CEO’s office, she got into her car and received a call from Jensen.
