Chapter 59
“So, tell us,Amara. Where do you think your sister might be?,” she questioned as she chewed on her sausage from across me and I curled my fist into a ball.
Since I was confined here, she made sure to extremely torture me mentally and I’ve been swallowing a lot of saliva to stop my anger from bursting out.
“I have no idea,” I said slowly as I dropped the glass of water I had drank from.
She forbade me from interacting with Rick and I was forced to comply with that horrible term.
I had no idea if Lucien was still on my side or if he had fully sided with her. He never looked at me with eyes that seemed to apologize anymore, he seemed to be totally avoiding me and I intended to find out why he had suddenly changed.
“You’ve been saying that for days, perhaps I should have you thoroughly interrogated,” she said, smiling at Giselle who glared at her.
Giselle had been the only one in the mansion who seemed to be on my side and did not hide her disdain for Rielle. She probably would’ve eliminated her but I think because of her ties to Lucien and Greyson of course, or because she was after all with them. I really couldn’t trust anyone in that mansion.
“Lucy, won’t you say anything to this vile wife of yours?” she questioned and Lucien shrugged.
“It’s alright, Rielle,I don’t think she knows,” he said and I glanced at him to see him. staring straight ahead. He must be purposely avoiding my gaze.
Rielle sighed and the dinner continued in silence, with Rielle shooting me occasional death glares and making snide remarks.
I muttered a thank you and walked to my room, wanting nothing more than to bawl my eyes out with tears. She didn’t hesitate to waste any opportunity to humiliate me in front of everyone, including Rick and she forbade him from calling me ‘mummy. She made sure I always ate dinner with them, at the other end of the table. She was probably doing that to show Lucien that I was nothing compared to her.
I was so hurt that Lucien was allowing all that to happen.

“Amara,” I spun around to see Giselle.
“I don’t know what she has done to him, but it can’t be good. Lucien loves wouldn’t be doing all these if he wasn’t under a spell,” she breathed out.

“Lucien knows what he’s doing. He’s not under a spell,” I huffed out, the tears. stinging my eyes.
“I’ve been trying to get Greyson to talk some sense into him.”
I heaved a sigh. Greyson, Rielle, and even Giselle. Could we even trust any of them?
“It’s no use. I don’t think anything is going to come out of that. Rielle has him wrapped around her finger,” I pointed out, balancing my foot with the other,
“Maybe you should talk to him..alone, you know you are mates and all,” she stated and I clutched my chest, gasping for air as the ache suddenly came back, worse.
She rushed to my side, holding me steady, to prevent me from falling. “What’s wrong, Amara?” she asked, concern lacing her voice.
“My–my chest–hurts–so bad!” I breathed out as the ache intensified and it felt like my whole b*dy was on fire.
“Bring the healer!, quickly!” She yelled to the guards and they scrambled away. “Bring water!” She yelled again and soon, a glass of water appeared before me and I greedily gulped it down.
“Are you okay now?” She asked and I nodded as I stood up.
“You gave me a scare–,”Just then, we saw the healer walking towards us.
“She’ll check you,” Giselle completed and I shook my head vigorously.
“No!. I’m fine,” I was scared of my gift being discovered by her. It’ll be chaotic and I’ll have a lot of explaining to do.
She scrunched her face in confusion as her l*ps parted and then she furrowed her brows as she glared at me.
“What the hell is going on, Amara?”
“Later, I’ll tell you later,” I said softly.

She seemed to be thinking about it for a moment before she sighed and turned to the healer who had come to stand beside us.
“It’s fine, you can go now, she’s all better,” She said and I nodded in agreement as she stared at us.
She looked at me intently for a while and sighed, turning to leave.
“Yumi,” I called and she halted in her steps, before turning to face me.
“Not a word of this to anyone,” I said firmly and then added. “Please.”
She nodded her head and walked away, leaving me and Giselle who kept looking at me, wordlessly.
I knew she wanted to know what was going on, but I couldn’t say anything, I didn’t even know what to say.
“Okay. What the hell is going on, Amara!”
“Look, you won’t understand, I don’t understand it either, but I’m fine,” I assured her as I glanced at the intricate designs on the wall.
“No, you’re not! You looked like you were about to die!” she yelled out, flinging her
arms.
“I am fine,” I said firmly and she sighed.
“I don’t know what you’re trying to hide or why you’re trying to hide it, but at least tell someone, Lucien maybe-”
I chuckled bitterly, cutting her off and she glared at me.
“I don’t know who to trust in this mansion, I feel all alone and-,” I sighed, unable

She furrowed her brows. “What does that mean?”
“I don’t know, you tell me, do you trust him?,” I shot out, ignoring Eve’s warning to not express my suspicions towards him.

“Are you trying to say, he’s plotting with Rielle?” She asked and I shrugged.
“I didn’t say anything like that–I only asked if you trusted him.”
She seemed to be looking for the right words to say and I took that as my cue to leave.
I went straight to my room and sat down on the ground, behind the door and I began to cry. I didn’t know what to do anymore and I knew I couldn’t keep staying. here.
Giselle was right. The ache was becoming worse every day and it felt like I was going to die. I had to find a way to get out of here and find Eve and Norman and I had to see a healer to ascertain the cause of this ache..
I couldn’t risk letting this healer find out or anyone in Silverpine either, I had to quickly leave, but I had no way of knowing where Eve went…unless I spoke to Lucien. Troy had told me that Eve and Norman disappeared before their sentence could be carried out and Lucien’s letter assured me of her safety. Which means. that he knows where she is.
I walked briskly to the archery range, knowing that Lucien would be there. I had carefully asked one of the maids and she had assured me that she had seen him. walking to the archery range earlier.
I heaved a sigh as I walked quickly to the range, hoping that I wouldn’t get noticed. by Rielle. She would stop me, humiliate me, and question me, saying that a known terrorist isn’t supposed to be moving about.
As soon as I got there, my heart swelled with joy and my face lit up with excitement. I stood still, a bit far from them, with a tree shielding me and even if they turned, they wouldn’t see me. I revelled in the sight, my heart leaping with joy.
Lucien was standing with Rick and showing him how to hold a bow, Joy coursed through me and I couldn’t help, but smile at the father–son bonding. I wished Kai was there, then my joy would be complete.
I observed their tender interaction from a distance. Seeing them together filled me with a sense of warmth and happiness that I couldn’t contain. Rick was smiling

widely as Lucien said something and then Lucien crouched down to his level and whispered something to him which made him laugh. Seeing them both like that made my heart clench. We would’ve been that happy family if Rielle hadn’t done all that she did.
Just as I was about to walk towards them, eager to join in their celebration, even if it was for a short while, my excitement faltered as She approached them. My heart shattered and the ache returned. I swallowed hard as I clenched my fist, ignoring the ache as I gazed directly at Rielle, resolving to be stronger in order to get back everything I lost.
I turned back to leave when I heard something that made me smile.
“Mummy. “I heard my son’s innocent voice and I quickly spun around.
And then to my astonishment, he ran to embrace Rielle. The tears began to drop. She had successfully taken my children from me.
