Taylor picked up the glass of wine and took a sniff.
After taking a small sip, he said, “Ms. Davidson, I underestimated you. You’re surprisingly capable.” Knowing that Taylor was referring to her getting drunk to boost Ansoft’s popularity, Mikayla smiled. “It’s nothing out of the blue. It’s normal for wealthy people like you to look down on others.”
“You talk as if you have been through hardships.” Taylor clicked his tongue.
Unabashedly, he continued, “The problem here is you look too pretty. People can’t help but wonder if there’s a brain behind that pretty face of yours.”
For a brief moment, Mikayla didn’t quite know how to respond.
“Mr. Blue has a unique way of complimenting others.”
“Well, you deserve my compliment.”
Taylor, seemingly unaffected by Mikayla’s sarcasm.
He smirked and asked, “Tell me more about the show you put on last night. Are you really getting abandoned by Jerome, or are you using it as an opportunity to accuse him?”
Fully aware that Taylor was just being nosy, Mikayla had no intention of satisfying his curiosity.
“Sorry, that’s a private matter. I have no obligations to disclose.”
Taylor didn’t seem offended.
He leaned back lazily and let out a wicked smile.
“Ms. Davidson, I now believe in your determination to take down Bernhal Enterprise. Let’s have a good time working together.”
It seemed like the collaboration with Taylor was confirmed.
Problem is, Mikayla didn’t have 100 million to join Mocato Investments right away.
Taylor wasn’t surprised.
“You can owe me the money for now. We can deduct it from the projects and dividends you manage to
secure in the future.”
Mikayla hesitated for a bit.
“I’ll join next month.”
There was only a little over ten days until her grandmother’s birthday.
Besides that, she also had to settle her divorce.
Plus, she had to follow up on the contracts and other matters at Ansoft.
She could only join next month after sorting out everything.
“Sure, I’ll be waiting.”
Just as they were done, their meal was served.
Several waiters assisted them in everything, from deboning the fish to serving soup.
The service provided was impeccable and it made Mikayla feel like a queen.
Taylor was a true hedonist.
Wherever he went, there would be guaranteed all kinds of luxury and extravagance.
“Mr. Blue, haven’t you ever thought about being a little more low–profile?” Mikayla asked.
“Why should you do that when you can enjoy life?” Taylor countered.
Mikayla thought that was quite reasonable.
After finishing the meal with Taylor, Mikayla went back to Ansoft again.
Betty joyfully showed her the surge in orders for Ansoft.
“Mikayla, this is all thanks to you!”
She didn’t expect Mikayla to turn an incident that would have made her a laughingstock into a perfect marketing opportunity in such a short time.
Overnight, Ansoft was no longer in danger.
Mikayla smiled.
“It’s mainly because of your help that it went well.”
None of them hesitated nor wavered.
They took action at the right time, that’s why things went so smoothly.
The two celebrated the success happily with some wine.
Suddenly, Betty remembered something.
“Johnny recently took over a liquor, distillery. He’s trying to buy over the media to create buzz for it. I reckon he’s probably trying to compete with us.
Mikayla frowned.
“Betty, you need to watch out for him.”
She wasn’t afraid of competing openly, rather she was worried that Johnny would resort to dirty tricks out of jealousy.
Betty said, “Rest assured. Being married to him for so long, I know all his tricks. I won’t let him take
