After making sure that Betty was fine, Mikayla told her what had just happened.
“Although I’m unsure whether it’s Johnny’s threat, it’s better that you don’t go out at night.”
“That bastard! How dare he threaten you! I have to teach him a lesson!”
When Betty heard that someone had threatened Mikayla, she became furious.
Mikayla stopped her. “Even if you go to him, he won’t admit it. He might frame you instead. I called you just to remind you to be more careful. Don’t let Johnny take advantage of you.”
“He wouldn’t dare to threaten me! I have proof of his dirty deeds. But for the sake of our child, I haven’t gone too far in dealing with him. But if he dares to do anything to you, I’ll fight him with everything I have!” Betty said.
Mikayla felt touched upon hearing that.
Despite the age difference between her and Betty, they got along well. Betty was also a
friend worth making.
“Betty, don’t be too angry. Jerome said that he would investigate this matter. I’ll let your know if there are any updates.”
They chatted for a while before hanging up the phone.

The dishes there were diverse, and the ingredients were fresh.
At noon, Mikayla drove to the revolving restaurant.
Stephen and Matilda had already arrived. As she approached to greet them, she noticed” Jerome standing not far away.
He stood aside, talking on the phone. He was wearing a black suit with a simple white shirt underneath. Although it was an ordinary outfit, he still looked like a model.
When he saw her, he just glanced at her before continuing his call with a calm expression.
Amy had told her that Jerome had gone out early in the morning, so Mikayla had thought
that he was busy at work.
How could he have the time to come here for a meal? She didn’t even invite him!

“Kay, why are you standing there? Come and sit with us,” Matilda greeted her with a smile. Her tone was warm and natural, as if she wasn’t the one who had torn up her divorce agreement last time.

“Kay, with Jerome’s help, I’ve successfully signed the contract with Fanell Group! I was just about to invite him to a meal when you called. I thought that we could all just eat together. We’re a family, after all!”
Stephen added generously, “I’ll treat you guys today!”
