Lucas turned in the swivel chair and looked around Pearl’s office. He could not help but
click his tongue.
“Your office has a vintage charm to it, looks like the office of a forty–something old man.”
Lucas looked at the traditional furniture and some tattered antique calligraphy and paintings. He said with disdain, “I have an ex–girlfriend who’s an interior designer. recommend her to you for a remodel.”
“There’s no need.”
Pearl looked at the documents Mason handed over and said without raising her head, “Firstly, don’t casually question my taste. Secondly, if a man in his forties is an old man, you’re already middle–aged. Thirdly, you’re already very annoying. Don’t summon your ex- girlfriends to disturb me. I’m not as free as you.”
Lucas touched his lips and looked at Mason. “Does Ms. Woolery always speak in such a precise and organized manner? Does she have some sort of numerical OCD?”
Seeing that Pearl was silent, Mason replied, “No. Ms. Woolery will only be like this when she talks back to you.”
“Really? So, I’m quite special?”
Lucas was not ashamed, but proud.
Mason shut his mouth silently and could not help but roll his eyes at Lucas.
“You’re quite special.” Pearl kept the documents and looked up at Lucas. “I have never seen anyone as thick–skinned as you.”
Lucas did not feel insulted at all. “I’m only thick–skinned when I’m facing beautiful women.”
Pearl could not be bothered with Lucas. Seeing that it was about time, she changed her high heels to flats and said, “Let’s go.”
Just as Pearl was about to leave, she saw a dark blue figure walk in without any warning.

Today, Marc was dressed in a dark pinstripe suit that accentuated his tall and well–built frame, exuding an air of sophistication.
Pearl understood Marc’s taste in clothes. Marc did not like the luxury brands in the business world. His suits were all hand stitched.
The material was not expensive, and it was even a little outdated. However, it was extremely comfortable to wear. Only Marc could make an ordinary suit look like a high–end
custom.
Nobility, connotation, and charm were vividly reflected in this man.
Pearl did not even look at Marc when they were downstairs just now, but now that Marc had appeared in front of her unexpectedly, she was in a daze for a moment.
“Oh? You came up on your own? We were just about to go down.”
Lucas greeted Marc.
Pearl frowned unhappily. “How did you get up here?”
Mason was also shocked. He asked his subordinates how they watched the door and let someone in without an appointment.
The assistants in the CEO’s office apologized profusely. When the receptionist, Elowen, saw that she had caused trouble again, she hurriedly stammered and explained, “I’m sorry, Ms. Woolery. Just as Elowen was about to follow Calista out, Marc said, “Wait.”
Marc looked at Pearl and said, “I asked the young lady to bring me up. She’s just a receptionist. There’s no need to make things difficult for her. If you have any
dissatisfaction, come at me.”
Lucas desperately signaled to Marc with his eyes. At this point, Marc should just stay quiet. What the point of showing off as a big hero?

“Mr. Males, do you have some kind of hero complex? You seem to have a desire to protect. and rescue vulnerable women. Since you’re so chivalrous, you shouldn’t have used your charm on my employee. It was your actions that caused her to lose her job, not mine.”
Pearl’s expression was extremely cold. “Our company has its own rules and regulations. The rewards and punishments are clear. It’s not up to you. If you like her or pity her, you can recruit her as a secretary. No one will stop you.”

“Mason!”
Mason immediately took a step forward. “Yes.”
Pearl instructed in a low voice, “Let the bodyguards and receptionists downstairs remember Mr. Males’s face. If I see the person who shouldn’t be let in again, you should also report to the HR department.”
Mason’s heart tightened. “Yes! I’ll give the order now!”
