Isabella looked at the long string of numbers on the check, a hint of scorn flashing in her eyes.
This man was already so wealthy, yet he shamelessly snatched the land from the orphanage. But quickly, her
expression shifted back to one of fear and uncertainty.
“Mr. Alexander, what is this supposed
to mean?”
“This is what you’re owed.”
Alexander’s voice was as cold as ever. To an ordinary person, the amount on the check might seem astronomical, but for the colossal Ascot Group, it
wasn’t even more than what a senior
executive earns annually.
Isabella was momentarily stunned. She

Alexander’s brows furrowed slightly, his piercing gaze like sharp knives directed at Isabella, as if he wanted to excavate her heart and see what she was truly thinking.
All the women who had approached him in the past did so with the intent of gaining something–either money or/benefits for their families.
This woman’s refusal of money meant she must have grander ambitions!
Isabella had no idea Alexander would
think so deeply into it. Her only thought was that she didn’t want his difiy money.
