Chapter 107
The car drove seamlessly, cutting through the night’s atmosphere. As the car left the small town up on the highway, the car increased its speed. Somehow, it got even more quieter in the car.
Naomi had her eyes closed. She leaned against the window, breathing gently.
She was asleep. Of course, she would typically be asleep at this hour.
Scott looked ahead as he listened to her breathing. His fingers fidgeted silently.
Suddenly, the car made a turn, leaning toward Scott’s side. The sleeping Naomi leaned toward Scott, too. Sensing what happened, she adjusted her sleeping position and soon fell asleep
once more.
This time, her head leaned slightly toward Scott instead of the window, but she was not leaning on Scott. She rested against the headrest.
However, she did not seem comfortable at all. It felt like her head could drop at any time. Due to that, she did not sleep very well.
Scott’s fingers stopped fidgeting.
As the car passed by streetlamp after streetlamp, Scott turned to look at her.
It might be bright outside, but it was dim in the car. The lights from the streetlamps did not reach inside the car. However, he could still see her long lashes and sharp nose, as well as her lightly powdered lips.
Naomi had a quiet nature. She took a longer time to warm up to people, which was why even when she was asleep, she was quiet.
She was always serious and calm. She carried herself with quiet grace and went through life’s troubles in strides.
Scott looked at her for a long time before going closer to her. He put her head on his shoulder.
Naomi vaguely felt her head leaning against something hard and cold, but it was much more comfortable than before. She moved her head a little, found a comfortable position, and continued sleeping.
Scott watched as her lashes fluttered for a while before they settled. She was like a butterfly who finally found a suitable place to rest and stopped flapping its wings.
She breathed lightly, her warm breath landing on him.
He listened to her breathing and noted how even they were.
He stared at her for a long time before looking ahead into the dark night.
Charles washed up and headed to the study room. He has been quite busy all this while, so he had to work late almost every night.

Ding! A message appeared, followed by the vibration of the phone.
Scott opened his eyes.
Naomi’s eyelids fluttered too. She moved and opened her eyes, looking around her in the car groggily.
She woke up.
After all, she was not in her bed, so she immediately heard the phone ring.
As she looked around, she noticed that the car was going through streets that she was familiar with. She paused for a while and came to her senses.
Was she about to reach home?
