Mikayla understood Wanda’s implication. However, she refused to deceive
herself.
“It’s okay, Grandma. You don’t need to console me. I’m well aware of Jerome’s position.”
He still harbored hate toward Mikayla. Even if there were genuine changes, she couldn’t entertain any more false hopes about him.
Jerome and Kylie shared a profound connection and emotional bond. Mikayla refused to interfere any further in this lifetime.
Upon seeing Mikayla’s resolute demeanor, Wanda refrained from further persuasion.
She concluded that Mikayla must’ve accumulated enough heartache and disappointment to be so decisive.
Wanda hoped Jerome would finally come to his senses and recapture Mikayla’s heart.

In the recreational area, a few women started discussing their own children.
“My son’s birthday is approaching. He mentioned that clothes from Milano’s Couture for Men are pretty good. They sent me a link with different pictures of their styles attached. They sent me a link with various styles attached. Come, take a look and give me some ideas.”
One of the women retrieved an iPad, and everyone leaned in to take a look.
Jerome briefly glanced at the screen as he passed by.
“Jerome, your fashion sense is impeccable. How about helping me with a suggestion?” the woman asked.
Everyone was surprised when he picked up the iPad, as they had expected
Jerome to refuse.
He scrolled through the new arrivals on the homepage, then tapped on the price range. He then clicked on the section marked “Within 300,000“.
He scrolled further. He then found a ready–made black suit priced at 280,000
dollars.
“Jerome, although I’m not as wealthy as your family, you don’t have to pick something from that price range,” the woman said with a smile.
Jerome then smiled faintly. Returning to the homepage, he pointed at a million- dollar couture piece.
“I personally think this one is good.”
“Oh, indeed! It’s simple yet fashionable. Come and take a look!“.
As the other women gathered around, Jerome returned the iPad and went out to the garden.
At the moment, Wanda was seated on a wooden bench as Mikayla took pictures for her.
“Perfect. Maintain that smile right there. You look so pretty, Grandma.”
Wanda was all smiles. Following Mikayla’s instructions, she tilted her head left. and right for the shots.
Jerome had always believed Mikayla knew how to please Wanda with sweet words and flattery.
However, it appeared he had underestimated her.
Although Mikayla was unreasonable at times, her sincerity toward Wanda remained unwavering.
“Don’t just stand there, Jerome. Come over and take a picture with us!” Wanda
called out as she spotted Jerome.
Mikayla turned. Her smile faded slightly. Nevertheless, she carried on taking
pictures for Wanda, ignoring his presence.
Jerome felt a tinge of irritation. Mikayla’s attitude toward him had gotten worse
recently.
In the past, she would joyfully run toward him. She would be eager to share the
photos they had taken without any need for Wanda’s encouragement.
Jerome couldn’t understand why she was still giving him such an attitude
despite giving her a card to buy gifts.
“Why do women persistently hold on to one thing?”
Feeling frustrated, Jerome tapped open Instagram. He immediately messaged Connor, who claimed to be experienced with women and understood them the
most.
Connor replied instantly, “Which woman? What kind of woman? Jerome, are you having an affair?”
Jerome was rendered speechless..
He walked toward Wanda, not bothering to deal with Connor.
“Come here. Come take some nice photos for me and Kay!” Wanda called out to Jerome, instructing him to take the pictures.
Jerome took the camera and snapped a few shots of them.
“Kay, the scenery over there is beautiful. Go stand over that spot. Let Jerome take some pictures of you,” Wanda added.
Mikayla didn’t want to dampen Wanda’s spirits, so she obediently walked over
to the spot.
