Mikayla said, “Normal couples also argue and give each other the silent treatment. Right
now, we’re in a cold war, and I don’t want to see you at all.”
Jerome asked, “Why are we in a cold war?”
“Did you

disrespectful at the dojo that day and you intentionally
embarrassed my friend.”
Jerome sneered coldly and said, “He was trying to get close to you, why should I treat him nicely?”
“Are you insane?” Mikayla couldn’t stand Jerome sullying the impeccable image of Michael. “He’s just a nice young man.”
Jerome stared at Mikayla and said, “Are you defending him? I know the nature of men better than you do.”
Mikayla suddenly thought of something when she heard his words and said, “You feel uneasy because you think someone is trying to get on my good side?”
So that was why Jerome proposed that they try to live like a normal couple. It turned out that it was just the possessiveness of a man at play!

Mikayla said, “Fine, let’s be at peace with each other. From now on, don’t talk to me.”
After saying that, Mikayla threw the pillow onto the chair. She turned her back to Jerome
and lay down.
Jerome swallowed his rising anger and tried to read a book.
“Turn off the light! The light is too bright, and I can’t sleep!”
Jerome gritted his teeth at her anger. Still, he put down the book and turned off all the
lights in the room except the small bedside lamp.

With the dim light, the room’s atmosphere seemed to become quieter.
Jerome couldn’t fall asleep at all.
After a while, he felt that Mikayla had fallen asleep as she wasn’t moving.
He got out of bed to look at her.
Her delicate body was curled up into a ball. Half of her face was buried in the pillow as she
breathed evenly and calmly.
Jerome didn’t disturb her. He picked up the book and phone on the bedside table and went
to the study.
Once Jerome left, Mikayla immediately opened her eyes.
She couldn’t fall asleep quickly tonight, either.
Jerome had only been in the room for a while, but she felt that the entire room was filled
with his presence.
After
all, he was a man she had deeply loved for several years. Plus, this was a situation
she had longed for in the past.
To be honest, Mikayla felt nervous sharing a room with him.
But she had to keep a clear head so that she wouldn’t fall into his trap as she had in her previous life.
As long as she didn’t get attached to Jerome, no one could hurt her.
Mikayla suppressed her thoughts and forced herself to sleep.
The next morning, Mikayla found herself waking up in bed again.
