Chapter 66
Luciano was rummaging through his wardrobe while I fed Lucivan.
Suddenly, he let out a frustrated groan, prompting me to look up at him.
“What’s wrong? Everything okay?” I inquired.
“I can’t seem to find anything to wear for tonight. It’s been months since I last went shopping,” he grumbled, running a hand through his hair in frustration.
I couldn’t help but chuckle at his predicament. Despite having a closet full of clothes, Luciano always managed to find something to complain about.
After placing Lucivan on the bed, I turned back to Luciano, only to find him looking at me with an unexpected suggestion.
“What do you say we go shopping right now?” he proposed.
“Right now?” I echoed in surprise.
“Yeah, why not?” he replied, sounding serious.
“Have you looked at the time?” I pointed out.
Luciano smirked confidently.
“For your information, Ms. Harper, I own more than half of the malls. I have enough clout to shop even if they’re closed.”
I rolled my eyes at his playful boast, knowing that he rarely flaunted his wealth and influence in such a manner. I was also excited because it has been days since I stepped out of this house.
“Go and put this on, quickly!” Luciano handed me a midi dress.
“But we’re going shopping, so I don’t think this dress would be suitable,” I protested.
“Just trust me, Vanessa. It’ll make it easier for you to feed him whenever he needs it. He tend get fussy and hungry at random times,” he explained, nodding towards Lucivan, who was cooing contentedly beside him.
I couldn’t help but smile at our little bundle of joy. Without any further argument, I went to change into the dress Luciano had chosen, When I returned, I found him engaged in a playful conversation with our son. Luciano was lying on his stomach, his

face hovering above Lucivan, who seemed entranced by his father’s antics,
“Don’t spill the beans to mommy, okay?” Luciano whispered to Lucivan, playfully bumping their fists together.
“What are you two plotting against me?” I asked, arching an eyebrow as I approached them.
“It’s our little secret,” Luciano replied with a mischievous wink.
I huffed and looked away. Combing my hair, I pick up the purse which had all the essentials of Lucivan. Luciano held him and we went outside.
As we settled into the car, Luciano turned on some soft music, creating a relaxed atmosphere for our outing.
I had a blind trust over Luciano, so I didn’t care where he was taking us. But when the car came to a halt I looked out and was surprised to find that we were not at a shopping
mall.
“We’re here,” Luciano announced, pulling into the parking lot of a cozy–looking restaurant instead of the mall I had anticipated.
“Wait, I thought we were going shopping?” I asked, a hint of confusion in my
voice.
“We are, but first, I am starving and could really go for something to eat, shopping would take at least two hours and I don’t think that I would be able to wait for so long” he replied smoothly, his eyes twinkling with excitement.
I narrowed my eyes at him suspiciously, but before I could protest further, Luciano was already out of the car, coming around to open my door for me.
“Come on, Vanessa. Trust me, you’ll love this place,” he urged, offering me his hand.
With a shrug and a smile, I took his hand and allowed him to lead me into the restaurant, he took our baby in his arm.
As we stepped into the restaurant, Luciano’s hand gently guiding me, I noticed a curious glint in his eyes. He seemed to be hiding something, a secret excitement bubbling just beneath the surface.
“Luciano, what’s going on?” I whispered, unable to contain my curiosity.
He simply grinned in response, his eyes sparkling with mischief, before leading us through the restaurant towards a back door.

Chapter 60
Just trust me, Vanessa,” he murmured, his voice low and enticing.
With a mixture of apprehension and excitement, I followed him through the door and into the open air beyond. To my surprise, we stepped out onto a quaint little island nestled behind the restaurant, surrounded by lush greenery and twinkling fairy lights.
As we walked further, I noticed a beautifully set table bathed in the soft glow of candlelight, with a canopy overhead to shield us from the starry night sky. The sound of gentle music filled the air, the notes of a piano drifting on the breeze, creating a serene and romantic ambiance.
I gasped in astonishment, my heart fluttering with delight at the sight before me. Luciano had planned a candlelit dinner for us, complete with all the trimmings and a backdrop of breathtaking natural beauty.
“Luciano, this is… Beautiful,” I breathed, my eyes shining with gratitude and admiration.
He smiled warmly, his gaze tender as he wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me
closer
“Not more than you” I blushed and he chuckled.
“So this was supposed to be our shopping?” I asked.
“Just wait and watch” he winked and chuckled.
Before I could ask anything else, he guided me towards the table. We settled into our seats, the soft glow of the candles casting a warm and intimate atmosphere around us.
My eyes scanned the food on the table and I got another surprise when I saw that all the food was up to my choice.
I looked up at Luciano and he cocked his head in knowing. Without uttering any more. word, Luciano pulled a chair for me.
I sat down, and he took a seat in front of me, placing Lucivan’s stroller beside us.
As we dined on delicious food and shared sweet conversation, I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed by the love and thoughtfulness behind Luciano’s gesture. I was actually getting bored at home and wanted something like this.
The soft music, cold breeze and the presence of my loved one just made this moment perfect for me.
When we were full, we wiped out hands and mouth with the tissue and stood up

together. A spoon dropped down as Luciano stood up,
“Staying with you had made me clumsy!” He passed a comment on me.
Instead of replying to him I picked up Lucivan as he was getting irritated by lying in the stroller alone,
When I turned around with Lucivan in my arms a loud gasp escaped my throat as I found Luciano on his knees with a ring nestled in a small box. My heart skipped a beat as I watched him, a rush of emotions swirling inside me.
What’s this?
Before I could comprehend the surprise, the night sky erupted into a dazzling display of fireworks. My eyes widened in astonishment as I gazed up at the vibrant bursts of color, spelling out a message that took my breath away.
“WILL YOU MARRY ME?”
For those moments I actually forgot to breath, my wide eyes reading the line again and again, to make sure that it was not a dream.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I turned back to Luciano, his gaze filled with love and anticipation. The world seemed to fade away as I took in the moment, the magic of the fireworks reflecting in his eyes.
“Vanessa‘
His chin quivered. He licked his lips to prepare himself to say his heart out but nothing came out of his mouth.
“Oh God! I never knew that proposing you will become more difficult than presenting in front of the clients. I prepare the speech and forgot everything”
I laughed at his statement.
“All I want to say is that, decades ago, when I met you for the first time I fall in love with you madly. You are the most beautiful, compassionate, and resilient person I have ever known. From the day you have come into my life, you brought light into the darkest corners of my heart, filling my days with joy, laughter, and an overwhelming sense of love. I am really sorry for all the mistakes that I have committed in the past. But from the bottom of my heart, I really love you”
The tears which were welling up in my eyes, dribbled down my cheeks without my knowledge.

“Luciano” I slapped his head.
“Now, tell me fast or my heart will burst out of my chest. Ms. Vanessa Harper will your do the honor of marrying me?”
He looked up at me with hopeful eyes and as I gazed into his, I knew only one answer.
“Yes, Luciano,” I whispered, my voice trembling with emotion. “Yes, a thousand times yes.”
Without wasting even a single second, he slipped the ring onto my finger, sealing our love in a promise that would last a lifetime.
He stood up and stared deep into
MTV eyes.
“Luciano, In a world where I’ve felt alone and forgotten, you were the one who saw me, who believed in me when no one else did. You’ve shown me a kind of love that I never knew existed, a love that has healed the broken pieces of my heart and filled me with a sense of belonging that I never thought possible.” I continued, my voice trembling with emotion, “you are the only family I’ve ever known, the only person who has ever truly loved me for who I am. I want nothing more than to spend the rest of my days by your side.”
I could see small tears in his eyes because it is for the first time I am confessing my feelings to him.
“I love you”
As soon as those three words were out of my mouth, he immediately jumped on me and took me into a warm yet protective hug.
“I love you too, my Dove”
Lucivan kicked him, reminding us of his presence.
“We love you two, our bundle of joy!”
Lifting him up, we kissed his chubby cheeks from both the sides.
