Mikayla was speechless about Taylor’s actions. Couldn’t he take a more advanced approach if he wanted to go against Jerome? She couldn’t accept his childish behavior.

She frowned. “Why?” Did he want to blame her for this matter?
Taylor seemed to add fuel to the fire. “She’s my driver today. You can bother her, but she can’t leave with you!”
Jerome frowned slightly and glared at Taylor coldly. “Mr. Blue, I heard your eldest brother is about to be promoted. If something goes wrong, he’s unlikely to forgive you.”
“Do you have the power to interfere in this matter?” Taylor said disdainfully.
Jerome stayed calm. “Although he’s in Cloudville, he happens to invite Miller Group for his investment promotion plan this time.”
Taylor snorted. “What does that have to do with me? If he doesn’t get promoted, he can return and take over the family business!”
“You can ignore your brother. But what about your grandpa? Can you also ignore him?”
Taylor was shocked. Should his grandfather uncover his role in sabotaging his eldest brother’s promotion, he would face repercussions and possibly struggle to remain concealed in Marisville.
“Fine. You win.” Taylor stood up. “I’ll let you go this time. Enjoy the time with your wife. I’ll take my
leave!”
He then left. Mikayla didn’t even have a chance to ask him to pay the bill.
She dismissed Jerome, saying, “You may leave as well.”
He frowned. “Mikayla, you bribed the manager to change my dishes and humiliated me before Professor Xander. Do you want to pretend that nothing happened?”
The manager claimed his wife had asked to change the dishes. But judging from Mikayla’s reaction, she didn’t declare her identity.
It was clear that Taylor had bribed the manager in advance.
But Jerome wasn’t upset about it. He was irritated because Mikayla was getting closer to Taylor..
He clearly warned her that Taylor wasn’t a good person.
“Did you come here with Taylor just to ruin my dinner?” Jerome asked again.
Although Mikayla didn’t know Taylor’s purpose for coming here, she was indeed an accomplies in changing the menu.
Out of manners, she felt compelled to apologize.
So, she wiped her hands and said, “I can go over and explain, but it’s not for you. I just apologize for my wrong behavior.”
Jerome pursed his lips and said nothing more.
There was a corridor leading to the private room. Mikayla thought the hanging rabbit–shaped. string lights were cute and wanted to touch them, but she couldn’t.
As soon as she withdrew her hand, she felt her feet dangle in the air. Jerome had lifted her off the
ground.
“What are you doing?” Mikayla exclaimed.
He looked calm. “I’m just helping you.”
She was speechless.
Jerome lifted her body in the same way that he would hold a toddler up high. She was so
embarrassed that she exclaimed, “Put me down!”
He put her down as she told, but his hands lingered on her waist as if unintentionally.
Mikayla was so angry that she threw his hand away and attempted to walk forward swiftly, but she accidentally bumped into the waiter carrying soup on the opposite side.
“Watch out!”
Before she could react, he drew her body back and quickly steadied the waiter’s tray.
Even so, some scalding soup still splashed out.
