Chapter 145
Mikayla glanced at Jerome and asked, “Can I borrow your phone?”
Is your phone out of battery?”
“No, 1 just want to use your phone to check Instagram. Don’t worry, I don’t mean to pry into your privacy.”
Then, she told him the truth. “I can’t view Louisa’s Instagram account. I want to use your account
to take a look.”
Jerome pursed his lips, then unlocked his phone and handed it to her.
“Thanks.”
Mikayla took the phone and opened the Instagram app. Then, she immediately searched for Louisa’s Instagram account.
Surprisingly, Louisa had sent Jerome a few messages. But he didn’t reply to her at all.
As she went through Louisa’s Instagram posts, Mikayla was certain that Louisa had blocked her
and not Jerome, since all her updates were still visible to him.
Mikayla couldn’t help but feel angry about such differential treatment.
If Louisa weren’t Eduard’s biological granddaughter, Mikayla wouldn’t be bothered to care about
her!
Holding back her anger, she swiftly scrolled through the posts.
Louisa posted updates almost every day. She shared all kinds of things, from her breakfast to her
night routine.
Soon, a post from two days ago caught Mikayla’s attention.
“The shooting stars are so beautiful. The situation we’d encountered was so dangerous.
Fortunately, everything turned out well in the end. Someone will always remember your casual
words.”
Several photos of the night sky accompanied the caption. There was a faint silhouette of a man in
one of them.
Matilda probably wouldn’t recognize him, but Mikayla could tell that the man was Jensen.
So, he had accompanied Louisa to see the stars two days ago. What else had happened?
Mikayla had no doubt that the so–called “dangerous situation” had been orchestrated by Jensen.
After his last plan failed, he had unexpectedly devised another one.
No wonder Louisa had accepted his gift and trusted him so much.
Mikayla wondered if Louisa would find out anything about the earrings today. Actually, she could just find someone to investigate Jensen’s information and show it to Louisa.
But regardless of whether Louisa would believe it or not, based on Jensen’s behavior in her previous life, he would probably risk everything and do something to hurt her.
Moreover, Mikayla didn’t want to alert Jensen too early.
Both Jensen and Annie were under Kylie’s orders. She wanted to find an opportunity to use him against Kylie so that she would know what it felt like to be betrayed.
Just then, Jerome’s phone chimed with a message notification.
Mikayla subconsciously glanced at it and saw that it was a message from Kylie. “Jerome, did your business trip go well? I was discharged from the hospital today.”
“What’s wrong? Who sent the message?” Jerome asked.
When he saw her frowning in thought, he came up to stand beside her.
“See for yourself,” Mikayla replied, returning the phone to him. “I’m done using it. Thank you.”
After saying that, she turned around and left the room without hesitation.
It was as if she had brought him the tea and applied the ointment for him just to borrow his phone.
Jerome held his phone. He seemed to still be able to smell her fragrance in the air.
He opened Instagram and casually replied to Kylie’s message. Then, he returned to his desk.
Kylie knew Jerome’s whereabouts better than Mikayla did.
When Mikayla returned to her room, she found an exquisite gift box placed conspicuously on the
